What is Brand Humanity?
Brand Humanity is the practice of building brands around the qualities that make people and organizations meaningfully human—such as authenticity, empathy, emotion, purpose, creativity, presence, and belonging. It treats brand as the cumulative experience a company creates through leadership, culture, products, communication, and customer interactions.
Why does Brand Humanity matter?
As AI makes competent content and execution abundant, trust, distinctiveness, taste, and genuine connection become more important sources of preference.
How does Brand Humanity work?
Translate human principles into specific behaviors, messages, experiences, and operating choices, then measure trust, recall, advocacy, and commercial outcomes.
The seven Brand Humanity principles
- Authenticity: act from credible values and an honest identity.
- Empathy: understand the audience as people, not targets.
- Emotion: create meaning people can feel and remember.
- Purpose: connect decisions to a reason beyond output.
- Creativity: make choices that are distinct, useful, and hard to copy.
- Presence: show up with attention, consistency, and accountability.
- Belonging: create participation, community, and a sense of being understood.
